Hulu discussing new business model
From Ars Technica:
Hulu is considering a complete makeover of its business model, with the possibility of transforming into an online TV bundle provider that would make money from subscriptions in the same way as cable or satellite companies. That's just one of several options being considered within the company, according to unnamed insiders speaking to the Wall Street Journal, but something's gotta give if the company wants to make money and remain competitive.
The free-with-ads model isn't working out as well for Hulu as its creators had hoped, leaving the company trying to figure out ways to better monetize its content before the content providers move onto greener pastures. For example, "people familiar with the matter" have told the Journal that News Corp. and Disney are considering pulling free Fox Broadcasting and ABC content from Hulu, respectively, as they make money from other delivery solutions such as Netflix, Apple, and Microsoft.Read the full article here.

The challenges facing Google 3.0
Buisnessweek has an incredibly well written article on Google's move to "version 3.0." It wonderfully describes the upcoming challenges and the difficulties Google may run into trying to keep their same philosophy. How will Android and the Chrome team develop two totally different OS's? Will the efforts of the new social division mesh with the search engineers? Here's an excerpt:
To get a sense of the emerging leaders at the technology giant, Bloomberg Businessweek spent time with six of Google's top product people, from one of the chiefs of the advertising technologies unit, to the head of the new Chrome operating system, to one of Google's czars of search. These deputies don't encompass all of Google's top talent, but they do have Larry Page's ear, and in some sense they represent the company's future. The executives—some of whom have been with Google from the beginning—made it clear that they still believe in the company. Google, they say, can succeed in markets where it has so far shown little aptitude. Together, their mandate is to help the company move more quickly and effectively—to keep it from becoming yet another once-dominant tech company that sees its mantle of innovation stolen away by upstarts. You can find the full article written by Brad Stone here.

You should do nothing for two minutes. Trust me, it'll help.
Stumbled across my new favorite website. It forces you to look at a pretty sunset and literally do nothing for two minutes. I've always been a fan of the work hard for twenty, veg-out for two system. I've ready that this is how new ideas are created, when you're not thinking of anything. So book mark this page and use it a couple times a day.

Applied to Google Engage
Today I applied to Google Engage for Wire Nectar. I'm not exactly sure what it will offer. The below video description uses a lot of vague terms like "marketing tools for your clients" and "training on Google services."
I'm most interested in the AdWords coupons they're offering to build clients' campaigns. We see this is as a great way to show businesses opportunities in AdWords with real data.

If Christoper Nolan directed a vacum commercial.
I've changed my earlier stance, I want Christopher Nolan to direct everything.
